IN THE HIGH SCHOOL FRIDAY NIGHT ENVIRONMENT

A 4-WEEK SERIES FROM THE GOSPELS ON CHRISTMAS

For many, the Christmas season is bursting with excitement about gifts—what’s on your wish list? What surprises might be under the tree? And what about the joy of finding the perfect present for someone? But the very first Christmas was all about the best, unexpected gift that God picked out for us. In this 4-week series from the Gospels, we’ll explore the Christmas story to reveal the unexpected wrapped in the gift of Jesus! So let’s tie the bows and deck the halls, but most of all, let’s celebrate God's unearned grace, the unexpected gift of Jesus, that God can do the unbelievable, and God's undeniable goodness.

MONTH OF NOVEMBER

WEEK 1

DEC 7

This week, we'll see Joseph embrace Jesus, God's gift, as his son, and Paul teaches how God's grace empowers us to live like Jesus.

BIG IDEA: Let's celebrate God's unearned grace.

BIBLE: Matthew 1:18–23; Romans 13:12– 14; Titus 2:11–14

WEEK 2

DEC 14

This week, we'll explore how Mary courageously accepted Jesus into her life, and Paul reminds us that God's grace can do immeasurably more than we can imagine.

BIG IDEA: Let's celebrate the unexpected gift of Jesus.

WEEK 3

This week, we’ll look at two unlikely prophecies from Isaiah that were fulfilled in Jesus' birth and celebrate how he came to save humanity.

BIG IDEA: Let's celebrate that God can do the unbelievable.

BIBLE: Isaiah 7:14, 35:1–2a, 53:3–6; Luke 19:10

WEEK 4

This week, we'll watch shepherds joyfully meeting Jesus in a manger and listen to a Psalm celebrating God as a shepherd who rescues their flock

BIG IDEA: Let's celebrate God's undeniable goodness.
